Photovoltaic Building Integration Technology

Photovoltaic Building Integration Technology (BIPV) technology is the integration of solar power (PV) products into buildings. It introduces the new concept of “building-generated energy”, i.e. the integration of buildings with photovoltaic power generation, whereby photovoltaic arrays are placed on the surface of the building envelope to generate electricity.
Photovoltaic modules appear in the form of a building material, and the photovoltaic array becomes an integral part of the building. Such as photovoltaic tile roofs, photovoltaic curtain walls photovoltaic light roofs, etc.
The advantages of BIPV are as follows.
Diversified design, making the appearance of the building more attractive.
Thermal insulation, waterproof and moisture-proof, energy saving, and environmental protection.
Avoid high roof temperature, reduce air-conditioning load, and improve the indoor environment.
Structural safety and reliability.
Convenient installation connection of PV arrays, shortening building construction time.
A combination of installation and building construction saves installation costs.
Decentralized power generation, avoiding transmission and distribution voltage loss (5% ~10%), reducing transmission and distribution investment and maintenance costs.
